We install screw-fastened aluminum micro-mesh guards on standard K-style gutters, and every installation includes a full cleaning, downspout flush, and system inspection first. Guards should never go on over debris.
But no guard is 100% maintenance-free. Fine debris like shingle grit, pollen, and seed pods still accumulates over time, and roof pitch and water volume affect performance. Anyone who tells you to never clean your gutters again is selling you something. We will tell you whether guards actually make sense for your trees and roofline, and if they do not, we will say so.

Can you wash the outside of the gutters too?
Yes, but it is a separate service. Gutter cleaning clears the inside of the system so water flows properly. Removing the black streaks, oxidation, and grime from the exterior gutter faces takes pressure washing with specialized cleaning solutions. It is a popular add-on when we are already on-site, so just mention it when you text us your estimate.
